Read what some people are saying about the FM 10/C unit:

Last year my daughter sprained her ankle and it wasn’t healing.  We tried many remedies, energy medicine, medication and nothing worked.  I had the opportunity to meet Nancy at the AHNA conference and she suggested trying the tens machine.  It worked magnificently.  Although it says its to manage pain – it certainly did wonders with pain, but her healing began as well.  She used it daily for 30 minutes and had great results.  I then tore my meniscus in my knee and got the tens machine from her and again it helped with the pain.  It was the only thing that helped.  I thought I was getting better and stopped using it and stopped doing other holistic approaches, only to find the pain steadily increasing.  I went back to the tens and immediately felt relief.  Baseball season is starting and my daughter needs her tens.  I will now buy one for me.  Neither of us ever want to be far from our tens.

Nancy,

It’s been 2 weeks since I picked up the TENS/CES unit and I wanted to let you know how it’s going.

I  have mainly been using the CES mode and have virtually no more pain in my legs and even the pain in my thumbs is much less than what it was.  I can actually hold a pen and sign my name without a bunch of pain.  Some days it’s hardly noticeable in my thumbs.

This past weekend I had some severe lower back pain that finally drove me into emergency Sunday afternoon.  We thought maybe it was a kidney stone or something like that.  But it wasn’t.  The MRI shows some mild to moderate degeneration of the backbone, but nothing of alarm to the doctor.  At least to cause the amount of pain I was in.

We finally concluded that it might be gout.  I had had gout in my right ankle about 2 months ago.  So I started taking Indocin and doing the TENS in the area of the pain (basically lower back each side of the spine).  Within a couple of days it had resolved itself.  I am having some pain in my lower back today (went off the Indocin yesterday after the pain was gone) and will go home soon and have a TENS treatment.

As far as sleep goes, I haven’t really noticed a big improvement.  I’m sleeping pretty good.  I do think the CES is a great stress reducer.  My job and life can be quite stressful at times and I think this unit has helped to relax me.

Needless to say, I love the unit and don’t want to give it up.  You’re going to have to wrestle me to get it back.

Dear Therapeutic Resources,

For many years, I have suffered with the pain and depression caused by living with Fibromyalgia and Graves Disease. I’ve tried every anti-depression and pain pill on the market to ease these conditions and have finally reached the end of the road when it comes to new meds to try in either category.  For many years, I’ve used yoga and trigger point massage for some relief; but really, there just wasn’t anything else to try. Depression and pain were constant companions … with no end it sight.

A few months ago, my physical therapist with the support of  my physiatrist, suggested I try your CES/TENS unit for more relief. I reluctantly agreed, not really thinking it would help much. The TENS portion was great, of course, but that’s already been proven for pain relief. What truly surprised me was the relief for depression that came with the use of the CES portion of the unit. Not only was there relief, but it seems to be almost permanent. In other words, I used the CES machine for about 30 minutes every other day for a week, a few months ago, and I haven’t had to use it except for a few minutes around my period since. It’s truly an amazing gift for me! Never have I gone through the winter months without severe depression requiring an increase in my anti-depressants and lots of therapy. In fact, I’ve actually reduced my anti-depressant dosage, and I still feel wonderful. This is amazing!

Thank you so much for this wonderful resource – a completely natural and medication-free way of relieving the truly debilitating depression and pain I once suffered.

Sincerely,

Dana

Nancy;

Early this year I heard about the TENS/CES unit on the Saturday Longevity radio show.

My father has been diagnosed with dementia for some years.  He is very sensitive to medications and we were seeing that his use of a small dose of Remeron was coming to an end.  We knew that upping the dose would lead to paranoia.  We tried Cymbalta and it seemed to work but the dose was too high in the minimal pill size

We got a prescription for the TENS/CES machine to try and intended to use it for insomnia.  My father had a long history of staying up at night and expressing anxiety.  He would be afraid of dying and would need to urinate frequently.  This caused stress for the night staff and disruption for the other people staying in the adult family home.  He has a very loud voice when he yells.

We hooked him up the first time in CES mode for an hour and went home.  There was an immediate improvement that night.  He was much more relaxed and the paranoia was gone.   When we went in the next day he was much improved in his conversation. He started to enjoy blackjack and Rummy Cube again.

It used to be that one would have to plan both sides of a conversation before you started to talk to him.  His vocabulary was functionally limited and the topics that could be covered in a discussion were few.

He was now beginning to initiate conversations on his own.  “How is your wife?”, “Is she still working at the library?”

I sat down and engaged in a half hour conversation where we both chose topics.  This was a huge improvement.  It was now a free flowing two way conversation without planning.

After a few weeks he stabilized with a much improved nighttime situation.  Most nights he would sleep most of the night with a few wake ups to urinate.  This was usually handled at the time when he was shifted to prevent pressure sores.  Yelling was almost eliminated.

At one point he sat in a bad position and wound up with a pain in his legs.  We tried to use the TENS side of the device to reduce the pain.  It was very interesting that he showed absolutely no response to the TENS signals even at the highest setting.  This was probably due to diabetic neuropathy.  An amazing thing happened.  If the CES machine brought about a 1X improvement, the TENS device generated a 3X improvement.

It was possible to sit down and have a long running free form discussion for up to an hour and a half.  His general mood was greatly improved.  He is happy and engaged in the diversions of the home.  Instead of sitting at the game table with his chin on his chest while his wife plays his Rummy Cube hand, he is engaged.  He is aware of what is happening at the table and notices if someone is not paying attention.  He jokes and laughs at others jokes.

When I drive him through Seattle on an outing he engages with the details of the city and the traffic situation.  He spots potential traffic issues as well as I do.

When we started using the TENS machine he was standing up when helped but would almost collapse on top of the walker and could not maneuver.  It was impossible for me to get him in and out of the car on my own.  Now I can easily get him in and out of the car by myself.  He can easily stand up with the walker and does limited walking with encouragement.

Another observation relates to sleep apnea.  Before the TENS/CES treatment you could watch him sleeping during the day and see problems.  He would slowly stop breathing until he stopped completely for up to 40 seconds.  Then he would take a deep breath and breathe hard to catch up.  As he got to normal in a few minutes he would slowly stop again in a cycle that lasted about ten minutes.  I am sure this went on all night.  Small noises would also wake him up in an agitated mood.

Now that he uses the TENS/CES machine he sleeps with completely normal breathing.  When he is asleep he is sound asleep.  When he wakes up he is glad to see you and in a good mood.

The TENS/CES combination has made a huge difference.
